Now, this new installer changes the mentalray.mod file located here on Windows:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Modules\Maya\2017\

Remove the mod files from previous betas in this directory:
C:\Users\\Documents\maya\2017\modules

This is a directory Maya knows to look at to override the previously installed module. Keep it in a safe place if you want to be able to go back to Beta7.
